_Salary/Grade Level Determination_: Your salary and grade will be determined by the Nurse Professional Standards Board (NPSB). The NPSB is a peer review process. The NPSB will review your individual qualifications, education, professional training/internship(s) and professional experience to determine the most appropriate salary and grade based on your individual accomplishments. If position is filled by reassignment, individual selected will retain grade and step of position currently held.

The RN Care Manager uses the nursing process and evidence-based practice to collaborate with the Core Team (Patient, Primary Care Provider, RN Care Manager, LPN, and Patient Support Technician) and Expanded Team (family/caregiver, internal and community-based services involving in providing care to the patient) in developing the patient-driven, holistic care plan for life. The RN Care Manager is a member of the patient-aligned care team (Core Team). The RN Care Manager is responsible for collaborating with services internal and external to the VA to facilitate care transition in order to effectively meet the patient''s needs. The RN Care Manager provides patient and family health education with a focus on self-management, prevention, and wellness, based on the patient''s goals. The RN Care Manager demonstrates leadership by serving as an advocate for patients, team player to colleagues as they continue to enhance their own and the team''s professional growth, development, and practice. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required. The delivery of care is in accordance with established standards, hospital policies and procedures, and is consistent with the plan of other health care providers. The Nurse Manager is the immediate supervisor of the RN Care Manager unless otherwise designated by the individual Service Line.

Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a nursing program that qualified for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Stuedents should submit the certifidate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the nursing transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6)
Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
GRADE DETERMINATIONS:
Experience as an RN will be evaluated to detemine if the experience is of an acceptable level of quality with regard to the following four dimensions of nursing: Practice, Professional Development, Collaboration and Scientific Inquiry. Each dimension of practice has criteria that demonstrate essential core competencies for VHA Nursing Personnel.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
