Position
Summary:
Under moderate supervision, welds fabricated metal components on production floor. Welds are performed on parts or subassemblies where cosmetics may not be a factor. Set up gas, arc or mig welding equipment. May position and fit basic metal components. Produces component parts to blueprint tolerances.
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Maintains welding equipment and makes adjustments on equipment to prepare it to weld different parts or subassemblies; may perform troubleshooting of welding equipment.
2. Performs simple to moderately complex welding operations (i.e. swivels, circle frames, A-frames) following blueprint weld symbols with limited supervision.
3. Moves parts and/or workpiece manually, by hoist or forklift and secures workpiece in weld fixture or table using clamps and wrenches.
4. Maintains production quanitities, efficiencies and quality on parts welded.
5. Performs quality control inspections and cleans welded components.
6. Prepares surfaces to be welded and works with blueprints to verify accuracty of pre-assembled metal components to be welded.
7. Peforms simple measurements using devices or gauges to check work.
8. Positions or tightens braces, jacks, clamps, cable slings, or may bolt parts in position for welding or riveting. Also performs rework, if necessary.
9. May research new welding techniques, procedures and equipment, and make recommendations.
10. May record work order information and inventory transactions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic procedures of mig welding.
Knowledge and understanding of basic procedures of voltage and amperage for given requirements.
Must possess basic math skills.
Skilled in the operation of grinders and deburring equipment.
Able to run 1/2-inch fillet welds.
Able to perform standard measurements using a tape measure and other measurement devices.
Able to weld simple to complex assemblies with little supervision.
Able to lift and positition fabricated metal parts manually, using a hoist or forklift.
Able to read and interpret blueprints with weld symbols and specifications.
Able to wear personal protective equipment.
Able to work overtime and/or including weekends as production schedules dictate.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in a non-climate controlled metal manufacturing production environment, with frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing in and around metal fabricated parts. Frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of 50 pounds alone and 100> pounds with assistance. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate production equipment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
