5 Part-time 12 hours ago Full Job Description The University of Saint Mary is a Roman Catholic, liberal arts university located in Leavenworth, Kansas, just 25 minutes away from Kansas City.

USM serves about 1,400 students at its main campus in Leavenworth, its satellite location in Overland Park, as well as online.
Rules and Guidelines Resident Assistant Members of the Residence Life team are expected to present themselves in a way that is congruent with the mission, vision and values of the department.
These terms and conditions of employment serve to guide Resident Assistant staff and should not be seen as an exhaustive list.
Staff members should exercise good judgment and adhere to the highest standards of professional ethics while serving as Residential Life employees.
Alcohol & Drugs Resident Assistants will abide by all state, federal and University regulations regarding drugs and alcohol.
Illegal possession or consumption of alcohol and/or drugs on or off campus may result in termination.
Resident Assistants are not permitted to attend social functions on or off campus involving illegal drugs or where there is underage drinking.
Performing job duties under the influence of drugs or alcohol is subject to employee termination.
Confidentiality & Media Relations Information regarding interpersonal relationships, mental health, personal history, and policy infractions are to remain confidential.
Information about residents not expressly defined as public information by the University of Saint Mary should not be shared with any party outside of the Office of Residence Life, Student Affairs, or Safety & Security unless authorized by a Residence Life or Student Life professional staff member.
Breaches of student confidentiality are taken seriously, and may result in employment action or termination.
Resident Assistants are not authorized to speak on behalf of the University or the Office of Residential Life in any official capacity.
It is expected that Resident Assistants do not use their position title when expressing views on any aspect of the University of Saint Mary to the media or in any written or on-line mediums.
It is expected that all Resident Assistants abide by a confidentiality agreement, and understand that signing this agreement does not entitle them to confidential matters, including but not limited to, student conduct, student account information, and anything that would be considered confidential for a student at the University of Saint Mary.
Job Duties Resident Assistants are required to plan and facilitate programs/events according to the specific requirements set forth by the Office of Residence Life.
Resident Assistants will create a supportive environment and serve as a mentor and role model to their floor communities.
Resident Assistants will assist in the development and identification of future Resident Assistants and RHA members.
When within USM residential facilities, Resident Assistants will make themselves available to assist with crisis situations.
Outside Employment/Involvement & Course Overload Resident Assistants must receive prior approval from professional staff for the following:
Outside employment Remuneration Resident Assistants receive a private room within an assigned community and $1000 stipend.
($500 per semester) Role Modeling & Ethical Behavior Resident Assistants should understand that they can be viewed as representatives of the Office of Residence Life and the University of Saint Mary at all times.
Resident Assistants are expected to uphold all state and federal laws as well as University and residential policies.
Failure to do so may result in employee termination.
Resident Assistants must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.
50 or higher as well as a term GPA of 2.
50 or higher.
Resident Assistants may be held accountable for behaviors that violate policy occurring on or off campus.
Time Commitment Resident Assistants will arrive approximately 7-10 days prior to move-in for fall training and 2-4 days prior to move-in for spring training to assist in the preparation for the opening and closing of residence halls.
Resident Assistants will remain until all residents have departed from their assigned residence hall for both fall and spring closing.
Resident Assistants will share in a duty rotation which includes weekdays, weekends, holidays, and breaks.
Resident Assistants will attend all regular meetings and any subsequent meetings scheduled by Residence Life staff, including but not limited to one-hour, weekly staff meetings and 30 minutes, weekly one-on-ones.
Resident Assistants are allotted 14 absences from their community per semester and are expected to obtain prior approval before taking leave.
An absence is defined as any time a Resident Assistant spends the majority of an evening/night away from his/her assigned community (travel, sleepover at friend's house, etc.
) Exceptions must be approved by Residential Life staff.

4 Resident Assistants are required to be available for at least five hours a week as office hours in their room.
Room Doors are to be opened during this time.
No guests are allowed in RA rooms during this time, unless a resident from the floor asking questions.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
