Mail and File Clerk

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Reviews incoming miscellaneous materials such as mail, publications, directives, etc. And presorts these into action and/or information categories. Performs a variety of general office support tasks; Performs administrative and/or clerical tasks in support of various office functions such as establishing and maintaining office files, collating documents, preparing folders, etc. Processes incoming and/or outgoing mail, including the processing of express mail; Performs general mail handling and distribution including sorting, opening, date stamping, classifying, processing, and routing mail; Serves as a Motor Vehicle Operator for the CPAC. Makes scheduled mail runs and conducts pickups and deliveries as required; Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA policy. Qualifications:
You must have (1) one year of general experience. Equivalent to the GS-3 level, and is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and related to this Mail and File Clerk position to be filled. -OR- EDUCATION:
You must successfully complete 2 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.) -OR- COMBINATION:
You must have an equivalent combination of general experience and post high school education as described that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position. Experience must be detailed, and transcripts required. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE AND COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION.) The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
