Social Work Service Line Manager (Chief)

This position can be filled at either the Leavenworth or Topeka VAMC campus. The incumbent is responsible for developing, planning, clarifying, administering and managing Social Work Services for all areas of the Health Care System. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Delivery of Social Work services on a routine and emergent basis, including during non-administrative hours. Informs other disciplines in writing of changes in social work program policies and procedures. Assess the most efficient deployment of staff. Ensures that the essential Clinical Social Work functions are provided. Develop procedures for the coordination of Social Work services and deployment of Social Work staff during disasters, drills and emergencies. Incumbent is attuned to the delivery of service through the health care system. Responsible for the selection, education and career development of VA Eastern Kansas Social Workers. Provides professional, clinical and administrative supervision and oversight within the Social Work service. Work Schedule:

Candidate must have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE). (Transcripts required) Licensure:
Persons hired in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for licensure Preferred
Experience:
The Chief Social Worker must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Preference will be given to candidates with experience managing a program and personnel in a health care setting, which includes budgeting, strategic planning, and labor relations. GS-14 Grade Determinations:
Social Worker (Service Chief) Experience/Education. One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. The chief social work service must evidence possession of supervisory and management skills. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in administration, demonstrating progressively more professional competency skills and judgment. May have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification. The chief social worker must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.(Current Copy must be provided) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
Skill in providing the full range of supervisory duties across multiple service divisions/sections, which would include responsibility for assignment of work to be performed, performance evaluation, selection of staff, and recommendations of awards, advancements, and when appropriate, disciplinary actions. Skill in applying legal, ethical, and professional standards to social work practice. Skill in developing, maintaining, and managing social work services in multiple divisions/sections. Ability to ensure compliance with social work practice, policy, and accreditation standards across the continuum of health care. Skill in providing consultation to facility leadership, managers, and other staff on social work qualification standards, practice, competency, productivity, and continuing education requirements. Skill in administrative oversight to ensure compliance with social work licensure requirements. References:

Position requires occasional heavy lifting, 35 pounds and over, heavy carrying, 35 pounds and over, pushing ( 1 hour), use of fingers, both hands required, periods of standing (5 hours), walking (up to 2 hours), both legs required, far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other, both eyes required, depth perception, ability to distinguish basic colors, ability to distinguish shades of colors, hearing (aid permitted) some bending, lifting and carrying of heavy items such as household items.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
